In Memoriam: Les Zidel

It is with deep sadness that NextStop Theatre reports the passing of Les Zidel on October 9th. Les was one of the original founders of our organization (as the Elden Street Players) in 1988. From our first volunteer production in a community rec room, to our emergence as a respected, professional regional theater, no one was a more ardent supporter and advocate for our organization.

He believed passionately in the transformational power of the arts (in all its forms) and fought tirelessly to bring that precious gift to everyone in his beloved Herndon. His blood, sweat, and tears, as well as his boundless passion, are forever engrained in every fiber of who we are as a company.

Thank you, Les. Every artist, staff member, volunteer, and patron of the arts in our community owes you a debt that we can never truly repay.
