Student Theatre Escapes

Returning for the 2024-2025 school year, we bring you our Get to Know a Musical program! Fun-filled days of theater play and adventures on teacher workdays and student holidays in the Fairfax County Public Schools calendar. 

Is your student obsessed with Hamilton, Newsies, or one of the other amazing hits seen on the Great White Way? These special, standalone classes will give young Broadway lovers the chance to listen, learn, and love on a different show each day. The day will include singing, dancing, acting, and more. No experience? No problem- all levels are welcome. From Golden Age classics to the latest box office smash, come get to know a musical with us!

WinterFest

Ring in the New Year with a series of theater adventures at NextStop. We’ll explore a variety of “greatest hits” games and activities over the course of four days, perfect to shake off those winter blues and start 2025 with a bang. Students in grades 1-6 are welcome to come and party with us! 

1st-6th Graders

December 30th- Get to Know a Musical: Holiday Inn

Following the format of our Student Theatre Escape program, we will sing, dance, act, and learn about the history of this fun and festive show. Including various holidays throughout the year and based on the 1942 Paramount Pictures musical of the same name, this is sure to be a toe-tapping good time.

December 31st- NYE Around the World

Join us to send 2024 off in style! We will ring in the new year every hour throughout the camp day with various global traditions. From jumping off chairs, carrying empty suitcases, wearing polka dots, or eating round foods this will be a New Year’s Eve to remember. 

January 2nd- Improv and Games

What better way to start a new year than by playing games and having fun? We will cover the basics of theatrical improv and play through a “greatest hits” list of games and theater activities. No experience necessary, students new to improv and seasoned performers will all find something to enjoy. 

January 3rd- Dance Party Day

Get your body moving with some basic dance technique and a whole lot of fun. Students will learn choreography from a variety of genres including jazz, modern, ballet, musical theatre, and tap! We will also play awesome dance & movement-based  games throughout the day. Get that energy up and kick off the year with dance!

High School Theatre Workshop Series

Take advantage of a day off of school by working on honing skills in your theatrical toolbox. Perfect for more serious students of both performing and technical theater in grades 9-12. Work with local professionals and experts in the field. Join us for the full series, or pick and choose the days that most interest you.

Full School Year Package

Select 6 of the individual day camps from the Student Theatre Escapes day camps and the Winter Theatre Fest camps.

Half School Year Package

Select 10 of the individual day camps from the Student Theatre Escapes day camps and the Winter Theatre Fest camps.  

Full Winter Fest Package

Includes all 4 days of the Winter Theatre Fest on December 30, December 31st, January 2nd, and January 3rd.
