The Festive Follies
This By-Kids-For-Kids holiday program will be a delightful caroling cabaret featuring 20-25 talented students, grades 3rd-8th, performing holidays songs from across the world, highlighting a variety of cultures and traditions, and comedic skits under the guidance of a professional creative team.
-
The Festive Follies is a special troupe of student singers and actors (Grades 3rd-8th) who will bring holiday cheer to NextStop and the larger community this winter. In addition to our community outreach performances, our cast will also perform 4 special concerts in the NextStop Theatre space. Check out the calendar for more exact tour dates and locations.
We will create an original program of holidays songs from across the world, highlighting a variety of cultures and traditions, readings, skits, and more - created around the skills and personalities of our cast! This is a fantastic opportunity to practice your performance skills, sing in a choir, try out some improv, and have fun with fellow theatre lovers and friends. -
To be considered, please submit a video of the following by October 18, 2024 at 5pm. Submit your video here.
1. A Slate - Clearly state your name, age, and what school you go to. This lets us hear your speaking voice and hopefully see a little bit of your personality
2. Singing - Sing 30 seconds to 1 minute of your favorite holiday song. You many sing acapella or with a karaoke track, but we don't want to hear any voices singing other than yours, please.
3. Storytelling- Tell us a story about anything you want, but no more than 1 minute, please. If you'd prefer, you could also choose a story, poem, or book that you like and read it aloud if you don't want to make up a story on your own.
See Ms. Jessi's Audition Tips to help make your video the best it can be.
